The role and metabolic functions of the branched-chain amino acids: a review
نویسندگان
چکیده
In recent years, a number of new functions branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) - leucine, valine and isoleucine have been revealed in various states the body animals humans. BCAA are involved regulation metabolism not only proteins, but also lipids carbohydrates, maintain health mammary glands intestines, help early implantation development embryos. increase protein synthesis currently considered as feed additives to improve meat productivity pigs. New aspects metabolic regulatory include regularities: 1) insufficient or excessive levels them diet enhances lipolysis; 2) BCAA, especially isoleucine, play an important role glucose utilization by activating transporters intestines muscles; 3) enhance intestine, transport production mucin; 4) innate adaptive immune responses. near future, use high-performance functional genomics, metabolomics, proteomics will make it possible more fully reveal gene expression, synthesis, regulation.

Protein-restricted (PR), high-carbohydrate diets improve metabolic health in rodents, yet the precise dietary components that are responsible for these effects have not been identified. Furthermore, the applicability of these studies to humans is unclear. Here, we demonstrate in a randomized controlled trial that a moderate PR diet also improves markers of metabolic health in humans. Intriguing...
متن کاملNovel Physiological Functions of Branched-Chain Amino Acids.
Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are essential amino acids for humans and are major building blocks of proteins. Recent studies indicate that BCAAs act not only as components of proteins, but also as nutrasignals. In this review, we summarize the findings of recent studies investigating the physiological functions of BCAAs in the regulation of protein and glucose metabolism and brain function.

Enzymic determination of branched-chain amino acids.
Transamination of branched-chain amino acids to (alpha-oxoglutarate, catalyzed by leucine aminotransferase coupled to the glutamate dehydrogenase reaction, is used in an enzymic assay for determination of branched-chain amino acids in serum and tissue homogenates. The coefficients of variation of the method within-day and day-to-day are 2.4 and 6.5%, respectively. Analytical recovery of physiol...
